Ansatsu Kyoushitsu // Assassination Classroom

WATCHED:14.09.2017 - 01.10.2018 AVERAGE RATING: 9.0

SEASON 1: A tentacled creature of unknown origins destroys over 70% of the moon and is planning to destroy the earth in the same way in one year. Karasuma-Sensei allows this creature to teach class 3-E for the time being. Since the students in this class were the lowest of the low, them getting the task to assassinate this creature was more useful than having them learn and study, in the schools' eyes. The students got one year to assassinate him. Which would result in the earth being saved and then them getting huge amounts of money. They are all given weapons that are only threatening towards the creature, made of special materials. Assassinating him isn't easy, as he can move at Mach 20. The students keep attempting to assassinate him in lots of ways but never manage. Like how once the class bully forced Nagisa (one of the main characters and a student) to jump onto the creature with a grenade around his neck (made of the material only threatening to the creature), but this still brought Nagisa in danger, so the creature saves him and himself by shedding his skin and covering Nagisa in it. The class decides to give their new teacher a name, and they decide on 'Korosensei' as he is their teacher (sensei) who they have to kill (korosu). Korosensei helps the students develop plans and techniques to kill him, and the students try their best to do so in creative ways. A new student gets introduced - Karma. And he starts off his presence in Class 3-E by making a move to assassinate Korosensei. After Karma makes another moves that threatens himself as well as Korosensei, he accepts him as his teacher. Bitch-Sensei is called in to help assassinate Korosensei and also becomes the English teacher for the class unwillingly. She was a big-shot at first, but after realising how hard it really is to even put a scratch on Korosensei, she tries her best at teaching and kind of gives up on killing Korosensei. At a school assembly, it becomes clear that the head of school wants Class E to do bad in the exams to make the other classes look good. This made the students and Korosensei pretty furious, so they give it their all to study really hard for the exams. They all seemed prepared, but the head of school noticed this. So he added an unfamiliar question to the exam last minute, which only Karma managed to do of Class E, placing him in the top 50. Class 3-E goes on a trip to Kyoto and the students try to come up with the perfect plan to assassinate Korosensei there. But this fails as two of the female students get kidnapped. Korosensei, Karma and Nagisa go and save them and later everyone goes back from the trip - the assassination attempt failed. Ritsu - a robot with a screen showing a girl, is introduced. But it constantly keeps trying to assassinate Korosensei during lesson which annoys everyone. So Korosensei modifier her to be more human like. Then, Itona gets introduced as Korosensei's 'brother' since he can get his hair to become tentacles, just like Korosensei's. Itona transfers into class E, but he's considered a big threat. Karasuma-Sensei who'd been Class 3-E's PE teacher is replaced by a new one. He appears kind and lighthearted, but he literally starts torturing the students. He gets caught and then fired. With the finals approaching, the top 5 of Class 3-A mock 3E, to which Karma suggests a competition. Class 3-E ends up beating the top 5 and therefore get to spend vacation at a resort island. The students make another plan to assassinate Korosensei. After he sheds his skin, making him unable to defend himself easily, the students go for it and capture him. They proceed to shoot off his tentacles and want to finish him off by sniping him. But Korosensei reveals his final defense form which is a form that holds him inside an indestructible crystal ball. It lasts for one whole day, until then, Korosensei can't move much. A big part of the class suddenly falls ill as a group of assassins put a virus in their drinks. They want Korosensei to surrender in exchange for the antidote. But Korosensei opposed to that and tries to obtain the antidote with a group of students by going through the hotel towards the location of the antidote which Korosensei and Ritsu worked on finding before. The students have to get past a lot of bodyguards and obstacles, but all manage to do so eventually. Then, they run into the old PE teacher that used to torture the students. He tries to kill the students going up against him with knives and guns. But Nagisa uses a special technique he learned and manages to surprise the teacher, and knocks him unconscious with a stun gun. It turns out that the virus was nothing more than a temporary food poisoning, so the next day. The effected students recover from it, and Korosensei emerges from his crystal ball. They go on to enjoy their vacation.

SEASON 2: Summer vacation is coming to an end so Korosensei plans some activities for the class to participate in before the start of the second term. Class 3-E had to deal with an overload of eggs, so they make a giant pudding and they see if Korosensei will fall for this trap, as there are anti-Korosensei bombs in the centre which can explode right in his face and assassinate him. But Korosensei works his way around the pudding without going to the centre. Korosensei gets attacked by Itona and the scientists that work on him, but Itona failed to kill his target, so the scientists abandon him leaving to die because of his tentacles. The sports festival arrived. With mid-terms two weeks ahead, and Korosensei's deadline five months away, some students start to study and train at the same time. But they end up hurting an innocent man during their training so Korosensei forces the class to work at the nursery the old man runs, as he himself was now hospitalised. Bitch-sensei gets kidnapped by the legendary assassin - The Reaper, so Class 3-E attempts to rescue her by themselves. But The Reaper is too strong for them. Luckily Karasuma and Korosensei came in at the right time and helped take care of the situation. The students short after get to choose their career plans, and Nagisa wants to become an assassin. His mom is planning for Nagisa to transfer back to the main campus, not considering Nagisa's feelings. So Korosensei visits her disguised as Karasuma-Sensei and tells her why Nagisa should stay in Class 3-E, and convinces her somewhat. The second semester finals are here, and Asano takes care of the test so that it has questions even Class A will have a hard time answering, just to kill off Class E. Somehow, class 3-E does manage and they take all the top 50 spots from class A. At the end of the second semester, Kaede suddenly reveals that she had tentacles implanted in her for a whole year already, and so attacks Korosensei, putting everyone's, including her own, lives in danger. The battle ends with Nagisa using Bitch-sensei's kissing technique on Kaede. And so Korosensei gets enough time to remove her tentacles. Korosensei then tells his story, on how he became what he is today. He was a test subject and got experimented on many times. In the meantime he talked a lot with one of the doctors, who was an assassin held captive by the lab. They got along really well through the glass in between them. But after being experimented on so much, Korosensei turned from a human into a yellow, tentacled monster. Escaping the facility, Aguri (the doctor) gets killed by a hidden mine. And so the building falls apart there, giving Korosensei a way to escape but also for him to find the love of his life dead in between the debris. This makes the students feel worse about having to kill him and they start to have a deeper connection with their teacher. The students try to save him instead. But Nagisa took the lead as well as Karma, who was against saving Korosensei. This lead to a physical fight. So the two 'teams' go against each other in a game of capture-the-flag paintball. The last ones standing were Karma and Nagisa, and Nagisa ends up beating him by pinning him down. So, the students had to follow Nagisa and help find a solution to save Korosensei. They discover that there's research for this being done in a space station, so Karma and Nagisa get sent to it in a space shuttle, to retrieve information. Korosensei's deadline is now just 8 days away, and the students all got accepted into the high schools they wanted to get into, against the odds. The government enacts their final plan to finally assassinate Korosensei as Class 3-E try to put together a yearbook of photos. The students reunite with Korosensei in a mountain and wish Korosensei a happy birthday, but the celebration is interrupted as the second God of Death (who used to be the reaper) became a monstrous tentacled monster, and he started attacking Korosensei. Trying to save Korosensei and give him some more time to get himself together to fight this monster, Kaede sacrifices herself. This lead to the final clash between Korosensei and the second God of Death. Kaede gets revived and the second God of Death is defeated. Exhausted, Korosensei falls to the ground. And the students pin him down. Nagisa sits on top of him and holds the knife over Korosensei's chest. After he says goodbye to Bitch-Sensei and Karasuma, Korosensei calls attendance one last time. After everyone responded, they all tear up. Korosensei takes this time to reflect on his life by himself and realises how grateful he is for this class. Nagisa starts skating as he's about to stab Korosensei. But Korosensei calms him down and tells him to smile, so he eventually does. And he stabs Korosensei's heart, leaving him to dissolve into light particles, raising up into the air and disappearing. Everyone starts to cry uncontrollably, and they graduate from their Assassination Classroom. They head back to class and go through the books Korosensei left each of them with advice for the future, they fall asleep reading them and wake up in class on the day of their high school graduation. The Anime ends with everyone returning to their peaceful daily lives, with Korosensei gone. 7 years after graduation and Korosensei's death, most of Class 3-E returns to the school and reunites. They play with water happily and talk things out, as Korosensei's spirit watches over them who now finally reunited with Aguri.
