Death Note

Light Yagami was just an ordinary but genius high school student until he laid his hands on a Death Note which was dropped by the Shinigami Ryuk. Light starts learning how the Death Note works and starts experimenting with it, then he meets Ryuk in person. (Whoever touches the Death Note will be able to see Shinigamis) Light wants to become the God of the New World where there are no criminals and where no crime happens. The people Light found to be guilty for crime, would be killed using the Death Note, and the rest of humanity will get to live. Light starts killing wanted criminals and the government and police get suspicious of these sudden deaths. L comes in, and he's the worlds' best detective, or at least in all of Japan. He explains how there has to be someone or something that causes for criminals to die, so they give that something the nickname 'Kira' (they don't know it's Light at this point). L seems very interested in Kira and starts investigating on who Kira is. L starts suspecting Light for being Kira, so he tries to get him to admit that he actually is. But since Light is also very smart he manages to out-smart L a lot, since he doesn't want anyone to know he is Kira, and L out-smarts Light a lot too. Light joins his dad and L in the police force in the case 'Anti-Kira Task Force' to try and find out who Kira is and kill him. Misa then comes along - a model, who also owns a Death Note which belongs to the Shinigami Rem. Misa falls in love with Lights and she therefore tries to assist him in creating the 'Perfect World' with her Note. But she makes a few strategical errors which lead L to have evidence for Light being Kira. A third Kira shows up who Light and Kira don't know, but this causes for L to let Light and Misa off the hook for a while. Light risks his Death Note by giving it to Misa causing for him to forget it's whole existence. The third Kira then uses Misa's Death Note after he got captured. Finally, Light touches his Death Note and regains possession of it too. So he regains all his memory of it. Light manipulates Rem into killing L whilst putting Misa in a life-threatening situation. Shinigami that write people's name in a Death Note will die, and as Rem writes L's real name down, she dies as well. Light continues to live as 'The 2nd L' and 'Kira'. Near and Mello come in the scene and we learn that they were most likely to be L's successors, but Light got to be! So Mello starts using criminal means to get closer to Kira, and Near investigates L. Light makes Misa give up her Death Note and gives it to Mikami. Suddenly, Mello dies but this leads Light and Mikami right into Near's trap. They can't escape the facts now, but Light and Mikami still try their best to kill Near and his squad. Mikami then gets shot and dies. Light desperately takes a last attempt to write everyone's name in his notebook but he doesn't manage as he gets shot multiple times. He walks away in pain and agony, and he then dies on a staircase somewhere else after Ryuk wrote Light's name in the notebook. (this also means that Ryuk died). Then Misa jumps of a building and commits suicide. It's truly a happy ending!
